Boudoir. Thoughts on our beauty...

Boudoir. Taboo or art? Unfortunately, I think for too many it's taboo.. and yet it's gorgeous art. I have photographed boudoir and personally love it - I think there is nothing more beautiful than a confident woman and nothing here needs to be tacky - everything can be classy and stunning. One of my "why's" in what I do is to help women be confident in their own skin.. and I try to do this in a few ways - Offering business/personal development workshops to them; real life work-experience with me here at Rustic Dreams Photograph as interns; as either customers of mine or partners in business with Rodan+Fields Dermatologists (get the best skin of your life), and through Boudoir sessions. It is a BIG part of me and what I believe in - Women deserve to feel beautiful, smart, and amazing... no matter who or what is in their life. So, what have I gone and done? I had boudoir photos done of myself by another fab photographer. I'd share the images but some might not think of that as very professional! ;) Point is - I can now say that I have been in my clients' shoes.. maybe in similar life situations, maybe in similar feelings, but definitely in being as vulnerable as one can get in front of the camera. Towards the end I managed a smile, and though I have posed others, I found I totally didn't know what to do myself.. and I was just so stinking thankful that I had a great "couch" on the other end of the lens this time! I have the worst C-section scar.. I feel like Frankenstein in a bikini it's that bad. I let it go. I am a mum and that's worth every second of that scar.. and the photos are still gorgeous. It's in the smile (that finally came about for me.. hahaha), and the eyes.. and the confidence that resides in each woman. If you have been silently wondering about a boudoir... or just need to chat about some confidence issues.. send me a msg - let's have coffee! ;) I can definitely say that Boudoir is amazing (on both sides of the lens) and women should be proud of their bodies - both inside and out! xx
