How was I so lucky to meet these guys? The coolest, sweetest sisters and a handsome groom! Well, I did and we were off to Maui together for them to celebrate at Gannons. Talk about blow me away location - Gannons sits high on the hill with a view over Waimea and the beach in front wasn't too shabby either. I often reflect on how fortunate I am to work with the families that I do - and this was no exception. It's the day I spend with the families (and the multiple coffee dates before hand) that I love about what I do. It's not JUST about photos - it's about stories. And memories and moments for sure.. but stories too. I hear them. I hear them all... from grandparents, friends, parents,.. you name it.. and I love it. Because this brings heart to my photos - not just the moments, but the interactions.. the dynamics, and allows me to bring better photos to the table. And I enter into people's lives and vice versa.. and I love that too. Strangers become friends and a support both ways.. and while I help capture their legacy.. we are making memories together and it's SUCH an awesome feeling. I get goose bumps when photographing weddings - again, this one was no exception. Talk about fun - great location, amazing food, con-wearing-couple, and she climbed a tree!
